What is EFT?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or ‘Tapping’ is a support tool for healing that is gentle, effective and empowering. Drawing from Chinese acupressure principles and modern psychology, EFT works to process and neutralise the brain’s stress responses by tapping on meridian end points on the body. It is a self applying technique that, with the help of a practitioner, anyone can learn to support themselves through a diverse range of challenges.
EFT essentially combines talk and somatic (body) therapy to restore balance in the body’s energy system, therefore allowing the body and mind to achieve balance and optimal function.
Tapping is one of many ‘Alternative Therapies’ that can be used to holistically support an individual or family/group through difficulty, crisis or illness. It is ideal that the right match be made for person to modality, as a good relationship will achieve greater and faster success in the healing process. EFT is worth exploring very early on as it is one of the leading and fast-developing techniques making powerful, positive impact in the area of trauma. Studies are showing that it is particularly affective for anxiety, trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
